Finance Director

This position entails responsibility for all aspects of budgeting, accounting, debt and investment management of the Housing Authority. The incumbent is required to ensure that all records of financial activities are maintained in accordance with prescribed regulations by the Department of Housing and Urban Development 

Life Builders and Teen Program Coordinator

This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing the KIHA Life Builders (LB) transitional housing program. This program is a mentoring and development program for young adults in need of basic life skills development and adult responsibilities skills development.

Facilities Laborer(s)

General maintenance and repair: Assists Lead and Repairers in ensuring that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations; monitors maintenance schedules to assure tasks are performed in a timely manner

Housing Advisor

Under guidance of the Housing Manager this policy driven, customer intensive position works directly with all tenants and participants to advise, communicate, and educate the compliance requirements of leases and contracts entered into by tenants and participants of KIHA programs and properties.

Accounting Specialist

This position is detail oriented, process driven, and deadline intensive. Incumbent assists Finance department with all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, loan servicing, loan payments, small procurements, and performs any other data entry tasks assigned. The position includes other accounting duties as well. Support Finance Director with research, projects, and administrative tasks.

Self Sufficiency Coordinator

This position is responsible to assist KIHA’s Services Program Manager in coordinating all activities under Kodiak Island Housing Authority’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program. Incumbent is responsible for successful implementation and evaluation of KIHA’s FSS Program activities and educational opportunities. Position requires working with residents impacted by the welfare to work reform.

 

Temporary Village Positions

The purpose of this job announcement is to develop a pool of qualified candidates to provide support to the Facilities Department for work in Akhiok, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, and Port Lions. Applications in this pool will be held for 1 year and will be used to fill any Facilities Laborer, Carpenter, and General Forman needs. Applicant(s) must reapply after 1 year of submission. A list will be made of the most qualified candidates that apply and these individuals will be contacted first for employment offers. If the most qualified individual is unavailable for work the next qualified candidate will be contacted until the position is filled. The pool remains open throughout the year as needed to fill vacancies.

Facilities Project Foreman – Temporary

Temporary is a working foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks, such that most of the Project Foreman’s daily job

Carpenter – Temporary

This position provides services for skilled work at the journeyman level in construction including all phases of wood frame construction and all aspects of interior remodel as well as new construction.

Facilities Laborer – Temporary

Under general supervision, assists and performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of Kodiak Island Housing Authority (KIHA) properties
