DISTINGUISHING FACTORS

Position will assist Warehouse Manager with coordinating the storage and distribution of all KIHA tools, supplies, materials, and equipment. Position will help maintain physical tool and material inventory for all projects, (including modernization, maintenance, development, and unmet need) and will properly supply materials, equipment and tools as needed for various jobs.

The incumbent will assist with the storage of supplies and materials for all departments. Incumbent will expedite warehoused equipment and material for KIHA projects and maintenance operations and will expedite from local vendors when necessary.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Responsible for working with warehouse manager to utilize appropriate inventory controls measures for storing and dispensing material, tools, and equipment of the Authority.
  2. Responsible for assisting the warehouse manager check incoming equipment, materials and supplies for type and quantity ordered and condition received, Document and report deficiencies and damaged items to Warehouse Manager.
  3. Responsible for learning and using the coding system to accommodate inventory control for tools and equipment.
  4. Responsible for storage of all materials, tools, and equipment in a safe, orderly, and secure manner.
  5. Responsible for the return of unused or retired material to stock and helping to maintain accurate inventory records.
  6. Responsible for working with warehouse manager to expedite necessary equipment, tools, and materials from warehouse to work crews as requested or purchasing and expediting from local vendors in accordance with small purchase procurement policy.
  7. Responsible for identifying surplus, obsolete, and scrap materials or supplies to be disposed of in accordance with KIHA disposition process.
  8. Responsible for helping with monthly checks and annual inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  9. Assist with site security cameras as needed or directed.
  10. Responsible for working professionally and effectively with internal and external partners, applicants, tenants, and participants.
  11. Assist with Janitorial duties as needed or directed, to include transportation of materials and waste for recycling.
  12. Assist with grounds keeping and snow removal as needed or directed.
  13. Responsible for promoting a safe and drug free work environment.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager, Facilities Director, or Executive Director.

Preferred qualifications

  • Requires the ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Requires ability to fill out required paperwork for requests and use of computer systems to enter data as needed. Familiarization with Inventory Program.
  • Requires ability to lift at least 75 pounds, to work from elevated positions and to operate off-loading equipment.
  • Requires familiarity with commonly used tools and maintenance materials.
  • Requires ability to maintain/repair commonly used tools.
  • Requires knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures.
  • Requires valid forklift safety and certification.
  • Requires valid Alaska drivers’ license with excellent driving record.

  • Status: Non-exempt
  • Salary Range: 32 ($22.31 – $31.96 per hour)
