We are committed to building a community that we can all be proud to live in—one that is full of hard-working people who live in safe, beautiful, and affordable homes.
Programs
Emergency Rental Assistance Program and Homeowners Assistance
Thanks to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, we were able to fund this crucial program which helps singles and families renting in Kodiak with their payments and prevents evictions for those struggling with COVID-related economic impacts. You’re not alone, find out if you qualify.
Affordable Rental Properties
We all know that rental prices in Kodiak are some of the highest in the nation. In fact, fair market rent in Kodiak is higher than 97% of other locations in the U.S.!* KIHA has over 200 first-rate rentals at affordable prices. We have rental programs for those who are Alaska Native/American Indian (AIAN), non-AIAN, 55 or more years old, and we even offer accessible units**. Units come in a variety of sizes and some offer resident services (after school programming, light housekeeping, etc.) Find your new home here.
Resident Services
For everyone living in KIHA properties, we have numerous services available. Take the Family Investment Center, which helps your children with rides, meals, and after school programs. Or the Life Builders transitional program which helps young adults pursue employment and education. You can build a better future, and we’re here to help.
Rental Assistance
You don’t have to live in one of our properties to get help from us. The Rental Assistance Program helps you pay a portion of your rent if you’re staying in the area. And the Student Rental Assistance Program helps American Indian and Alaska Native students who are in secondary education, so you can make time to study.
