As part of our effort to modernize our housing stock, Kodiak Island Housing Authority is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide construction services at our Woodside Manor apartment complex located at 2815 Woody Way Circle in Kodiak, Alaska.

Question 1 (2/21/24): what is the square footage of these apartments?

Answer: Approximate footprints:

  • Apartment 302: 1060 sqft (2 story)
  • Apartment 405: 1027 sqft (single level)
  • Apartment 502: 843 sqft (single level)
  • Apartment 506: 843 sqft(single level)

Question 2 (2/21/24): are electrical outlets, switches, covers to be replaced?
Answer: yes. Replaced by proposer, with KIHA supplied materials.

Question 3 (2/21/24): are shower mixing valves to be replaced?
Answer: yes. Replaced by proposer, with KIHA supplied valves.

Question 4 (2/23/24): Please clarify the plumbing scope of work. There is no mention of replacing/lowering the baseboard heat registers and installing new covers in the current RFP.

Answer: Baseboard heaters should be replaced (at the correct height) with KIHA supplied material, along with any wall repairs required.

Question 5 (2/23/24): Please clarify the electrical scope of work, there is no mention of replacing all lights and outlets in the current RFP.

Answer: Yes, all light fixtures and outlets should be replaced by contractor, with KIHA supplied fixtures.
